Beyond Birthday - WerewolfBeyond Birthday grinned madly. He looked wildly up at the moon, willing it to trigger the terrible beast that lay waiting within him. He flinched slightly as a piercing pain stabbed at the crimson, moon shaped scar on his belly. Twitching, he began to laugh. A slow and quiet giggle at first, then escalating to a loud and utterly insane cackle. His laughing was abruptly cut off by a grunt. His grin was replaced with a grimace as the pain began to spread to all parts of his body. Breathing heavily, he fell to his knees and clutched his head in his hands. Pre-transformation pain is
worse than expected
, he muttered breathlessly. He dug his fingernails into his skull. The pain was growing, getting worse and worse by the second. His grunts and groans became screams as his body finally began to transform.Fingernails and teeth grew rapidly into long and pointed claws and fangs. A prickling feeling overwhelmed him as pitch black fur sprouted from all parts of his body.
Not a WordThey spoke not a word to each other, or to the endless night sky that loomed before them. The stars twinkled brightly, smiling and shining to all of the universe. The moon glowed warmly, brighter than any a star, and more beautiful than the most attractive of Earth's pleasures. To the children that lay upon the grass, gazing into the night, it was a magical sight."Sister," said the boy, voice trembling and weak, "why do the stars shine as I lay weak and dying? Do they feel no sorrow, no remorse for the life that will soon be lost?" He turned his head and averted his gaze unto blonde curls."They shine because, although they look close, they are lonely and apart. Your spirit will fly into the sky, fly into the universe and become another star, become a friend to those shining near, brother." She replied, with a smile on her lips and a tear on her cheek.
