The she-wolf slowly trudged through the paw-deep snow. Alone, she knew she would not survive for long. She had broken one of Wolfkinds greatest rules - to never consort with humans. Even her mate, the alpha male of the pack, had been angered by her. Now she was banished, forced to forever wonder unaccompanied by none. She knew other packs would never accept her for she stunk of rejection. All her life would be wasted, blown away by the winter winds and ripped apart by cruel blizzards.
